Professional Biography
Andrew is a consultant urologist at Stepping Hill Hospital, Stockport. He operates mainly at Stepping Hill Hospital and Macclesfield General Hospital but also has clinics at Congleton War Memorial Hospital, Tameside General Hospital and Knutsford Community Hospital.
He covers all aspects of general urology but has sub-speciality interests in Prostate Cancer Diagnosis (including Multiparametric MRI, Transperineal Template Prostate Biopsy and MR Fusion Targeted Prostate Biopsy), Urethral Reconstruction, and Functional Urology which includes bladder dysfunction, benign prostate conditions (including UroLIft and Bipolar TURP) and implant surgery for incontinence (including Artificial Urinary Sphincters and the AdVance Male sling).
He graduated from Imperial College in 1998 and undertook all of his higher surgical training in the North West. He is a member of the British Association of Urological Surgeons (BAUS), BAUS Section of Andrology and Genito-Urethral Surgery, and the UK Urethral Surgeons Group.
He is an Honorary Senior Lecturer at Salford University and is a faculty member and organiser of an MSC at the University. He lectures regularly on many national surgical courses and organises courses in the North West for the Royal College of Surgeons.

Research
His main research interests are clinically based. He is a principle investigator for several national and international randomised controlled trials looking at prostate surgery, urethral reconstruction and implant surgery for incontinence. He is also currently working with The Picker Institute Europe to develop and validate a national patient questionnaire to assess doctors communication skills.
