Professional Biography
Daniel is a Consultant Urological Surgeon and Clinical Director of Urology at Central Manchester University Hospitals. He was appointed in 2010 after successfully establishing a minimally invasive prostate and kidney service as a Consultant in Derby & Sherwood Forest NHS Trusts.
He graduated from London University and subsequently gained his training in Bath, Manchester, Liverpool & Australia before completing his urological surgical training with a fellowship in laparoscopic and robotic surgery in the world renowned urological centre in Bordeaux, France.
Daniel covers all aspects of adult urology and continues his sub-specialist interests and more recently, along with his colleagues in Manchester Urology has advanced the techniques of prostate cancer diagnosis with the establishment of Multiparametric MRI, Transperineal Template Prostate Biopsy and MR Fusion Targeted Prostate Biopsy. He has also continued to develop minimally invasive techniques with the establishment of an entirely 3-D laparoscopic surgery at the Manchester Royal Infirmary.
Daniel is an enthusiastic teacher and is a member of the educational faculty of 'The European Institute of TeleSurgery' at The University Hospital, Strasbourg, where he regularly teaches on their international courses. He is also involved in the training and mentoring of fellow UK consultants in minimally invasive surgery.
