Professional Biography
Neil is a consultant urological surgeon and one of the pioneers in ‘Keyhole’ (Laparoscopic) surgery for urinary tract diseases in the United Kingdom. He holds consultant contracts at Stepping Hill Hospital, Stockport and the Royal Hallamshire Hospital, Sheffield. He has a comprehensive practice of Laparoscopic surgery for the treatments of prostate cancer and kidney disease with extensive experience of nerve sparing radical prostatectomy, partial nephrectomy and pyeloplasty. He holds a passionate commitment to achieving the highest quality outcomes and his developments in Laparoscopic surgical techniques for these operations have been published and presented internationally.
Following his live demonstration of laparoscopic nephrectomy to the British Association of Urological Surgeons Section(BAUS) of Endourology in 2001 he was elected to office on the Executive Committee and subsequently developed the BAUS Laparoscopic training program. He continues to train colleagues throughout the UK and abroad in this highly specialised field, operating as a mentor to consultant surgeons in over 20 other UK hospitals.
